Undefeated Douglass advances to 2A state championship

OXON HILL, Md. (WUSA 9) -- Douglass advanced to the Maryland 2A state championship after defeating South Carroll 43-0 in Saturday's semifinal game. After Saturday's win, the Eagles have an undefeated record of 13-0, which is the most wins in the school's history.

 

Douglass started the game off strong, scoring fast and often. Before halftime, the Eagles led South Carroll 20-0 thanks to a touchdown run by quarterback Devin Butler and two touchdown runs by running back Thomas Meyers.

 

The Eagles continued to dominate the second half with two touchdown runs by running back Akiva Wedge and another touchdown run by Meyers, ultimately defeating the Cavaliers of South Carroll 43-0.
